Scientific Program Social Events Abstract Information About Charleston |
Charleston is a beautiful city sitting south of the mid-point of South Carolina's coastline, at the junction of the Ashley and Cooper rivers. Its name is derived from Charles Towne, named after King Charles II of England. Steeped in history, this harbor city's past can be felt in its cobblestone streets, antebellum houses and historic buildings.
We will be staying at the Mills House Hotel, orginally opened in 1853, and located in the historic district. The National Landmark Hibernian Hall, adjacent to the hotel and built in 1840, will serve as our meeting venue.
